The next project that we are working on is interviewing an expert so we watched a very good video that firsts talk about The Who, what, when, where, why and how. The Video talks about finding cool people and these are people who are colorful, opinionated, outgoing and lively. The most important is why because it answers the question of why should someone care which is explained by the video that if the interviewer doesn't care the audience will not either. The next part is about questions and the video says we should ask to tell me questions because so it doesn't turn into a question and answer furthermore one person would be taking notes and looking for Broll and sound bites. The main point in the planning stage is just to remember that it is a conversation, not an interrogation. Third, the video has to have good audio because without good audio it is not a good interview. Next, the video goes into a composition where it says that the light should be behind the camera and that the camera goes over the shoulder of the reporter. A big part of interviewing the video talks about is there is always room to improve and the interviewer needs tone practicing how to give an interview with no interruptions and that they need to be prepared with a plan and a backup plan with multiple interviewers. One of the final things is conducting the interview and the tips are to not be in a rush and take your time as well as the interviewer should be helping the speaker with their type of question. The final thing is it shows a couple of tips like be honest and have a conversation as well as to have fun because that will translate to a good video.
